Where we’re at now:
Above: The city’s current status. We are well set up for a lot of growth over the next several episodes, now that we have the framework in place for residential, commercial, and industrial areas.
Below: Traffic status. The flow continues to remain steady, despite some hot spots. Even the red areas flow well, without any standstills. We extended a road along the coast (not shown here) and created a new highway interchange for future use.
Above: We added a monorail line along the coast, which will be explained further below.
Below: The main focus of the episode was on the base infrastructure of the monorail line which will go along the coast. I’ve structured it so the residential zoning will be along the waterfront, and the commercial zoning will be between the avenue and the highway. As set up in the last episode, the cargo rail will deliver the bulk of the freight, keeping a lot of traffic off the roads.

Below: A close-up view of the monorail. The parks between the monorail and the main avenue will serve as a noise buffer (the monorail stations generate a large amount of noise).
Above: An overview of the area for future development. The new avenue extends all the way down to the harbor area, and another new avenue heads up to the highway.
Below: This is the new interchange. As mentioned in the video, I find roundabout interchanges to be the easiest to build when playing vanilla.
Above: The industrial traffic near our cargo stations is really picking up. This may be an issue to address in the future.
